Subject: NetWare 386 v3.0 Caching Deleted Files
Date: August 2, 1990
OS Version: 386
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
GENERAL
INFORMATION: Those of you who have seen users with NetWare 386 deleting
files and still having them cached via the directory entry
table will applaud the release of v3.1. This problem has
been addressed and fixed in v3.1. The directory entry for
deleted files are moved to different blocks that are not
cached.
People were running out of memory because the Directory
Entry Table was getting to big to be cached. "Not enough
memory to cache Directory Entry Table" was the error most
commonly seen.
